Brooke C. Stoddard

Brooke C. Stoddard has been a writer and editor for 30 years. He was a writer/editor and Assistant Series Editor at Time-Life Books for six years. He recently finished contracting with the National Geographic Society to update six books. He is the author of World in the Balance: The Perilous Months June-October 1940 (Potomac, 2010) as well as books on other topics. He has written major speeches for senior government officials and ghostwritten op-eds for major CEOs. He has placed articles in the Washington Post, Historic Preservation, National Geographic World, Government Computer News and many other trade magazines and periodicals. He has served as the editor of two newsstand magazines: Country’s Best Log Homes and Military Heritage. He holds a B. A. in English from Princeton University and an M. A. in Literature from George Washington University.
His interests include travel, languages, mathematics, technology, and history.
He is a member of the National Press Club, American Society of Journalists and Authors (former D. C. President), and American Independent Writers (former Director).
He lives in Alexandria, Virginia, where he has renovated two homes, has raised three children, serves on community boards, and is a member of the Chamber of Commerce.
One of his recent efforts won Best Promotional Writing of 2007 from American Independent Writers.
